How hard is it to get a job as a Massage Therapist, fresh out of school??

Posted by admin on Jul 30, 2008

I am majoring in Massage Therapy, I want to know how hard is it to find a job? Im in a certificate program at Kaplan College, not a degree. Please give useful information about the field.

Your best bet would be to try the cruise lines, chiropractic practices, or perhaps a hair and day spa. Any place else will be hard because you only have a certificate and not a degree. You could always finish up your degree while working; like an internship.

Most states have a licensing process that you should be prepared for after completing the certification process. The college should be able to acquaint you with the state requirements. If they are offering a certificate and cannot tell you what the state requirements are, I would be very suspicious!
